Not all linen is equal, and the difference mostly comes down to fibre length. Longer fibres, the kind Normandy's climate is known for, spin into a smoother, more even yarn, one that softens with wear rather than wearing out. Shorter fibres aren't lesser, they just don't perform the same way across every fabric, and for a piece like this one, long-staple is simply the better fit.

This one is also pre-washed, an Albini quality standard that makes the fabric more stable, staying truer to its look and shape wash after wash rather than shifting or drifting the way untreated linen sometimes can.

Linen comes from the flax plant, and the plant leaves its mark on the fabric in small, uneven knots called slubs, tiny thickenings in the yarn where the fibre bundled slightly unevenly during spinning. They're not a flaw. They're proof the fabric came from a plant and not a lab, and no amount of washing will smooth them away, because they're built into the yarn itself.

There's a real difference between that and an actual defect. True flaws in a run of fabric do happen, and when they do, we sometimes have to adjust the cutting pattern around them to work with what the cloth has given us. But the slubs themselves aren't in that category. They're not something to correct. They're the part of the fabric that's meant to stay exactly as it is.
